GRANDMA'S WHOLE PIE
Grandma Pies originated in the kitchen of Italian Grandmothers using simple ingredients. Made popular by Umberto’s of Hyde Park Long Island, these unique pies are made in sheet pans coated in olive oil for an extra crispy crust. Grandma pizzas are like the Sicilian style but with a thinner crust. These tasty pies are topped with cheese and a small amount of plum tomato sauce. After the pies come out of the oven, they are finished with a liberal amount of garlic oil and a grating of Pecorino Romano Cheese and cut into rectangles, giving every slice a crispy handle of garlic and olive oil-infused crust.
